The end of the school year is always an odd, low-key experience.
For much of the year, we are on a long, dizzying rollercoaster ride full of unexpected and sometimes painful twists and turns.
The end of the year is like being pulled up, up, up on the ride. We rise higher and higher in anticipation of a steep and thrilling drop before one last mad dash down the tracks. Then, at the peak of our climb, everything stops.
The lap bars pop up, and we all quietly exit the ride. In 2 1/2 months, we get in line and ride it all over again.
